Three private villas, three private pools and no one else on your side of the gate

Horizon, Harmony and Elysium stand side by side in Theologos, on the west coast of Rhodes. Each is a separate house with its own kitchen and a pool a metre or two from the door, with a stacked-stone wall along one side and a pergola-shaded terrace off the master bedroom upstairs. Days tend to go slowly here: the water first thing, shade at midday, dinner outside once it cools. Book one villa, or all three together for a larger group.

Morning light

Villa Horizon

Villa Horizon's master bedroom opens onto a pergola-shaded terrace of its own, open on three sides, with the sea to the north and the morning sun from the east. The large terrace on the same floor faces north-west, open to the sky, with the same water in view and the last of the evening light. Insulated walls and triple-glazed windows keep the rooms cool and quiet through the hottest part of the afternoon.

Room for two couples

Villa Harmony

Villa Harmony's master bedroom opens onto a pergola-shaded terrace of its own, open on three sides, where the west side holds the light until the sun goes down. The larger terrace on the same floor is open to the sky and faces north-west, so both terraces upstairs have the sun until it sets. King-size beds in both bedrooms and a sofa in the living area that opens for two more make it as easy for two couples sharing as for a family.

Shade when you want it

Villa Elysium

Villa Elysium's pool terrace is the largest of the three, and the villa stands between it and the sun for part of the day, so there is more shade down there than at the other two. One bedroom sits a short flight of steps above the ground floor, slightly apart from the rest of the house, and opens onto a narrow balcony over lemon and kumquat trees and night-blooming jasmine, which scents the room after dark. The master bedroom is on the first floor, with a shower room and pergola-shaded terrace of its own.

“Everything in the villa is top-quality, from the kitchen appliances to the furniture, you can tell a lot of thought went into it. The beds were especially amazing, huge and super comfortable, probably the best sleep we’ve had on any holiday. It’s also really quiet inside, the soundproofing and insulation are great. We couldn’t have asked for a better home base for our time in Rhodes.”
